Washington, DC — The Canadian Red Cross, a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, has become a federated member of NetHope, an information technology collaboration of leading nongovernmental organizations specializing in humanitarian relief, emergency response, and conservation.
NetHope enables members to extend their communications infrastructure and Internet-based applications in developing countries around the world. Members share knowledge and collaborate on information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, leveraging their power for capacity-building and creating best practices in the field.
“We’re excited to be entering into this partnership with NetHope,” said Almin Surani, CIO of the Canadian Red Cross. “We look forward to developing effective technologies together with partner organizations that will help us achieve our common goal of providing humanitarian aid to those in need.”
NetHope CEO Bill Brindley said, “We are very pleased to welcome the Canadian Red Cross into the NetHope family of ICT professionals.
